Frequently Asked Questions

What types of massage therapy do you offer at Holistic Harmony in Longmont, CO?
We specialize in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including lymphatic massage, trauma-informed massage, cupping therapy, deep tissue, prenatal massage, neuromuscular therapy, and relaxation massage. Every session is tailored to meet your individual wellness goals.

How do I know which massage is right for me?
Your first visit includes a thorough intake and consultation to determine the best modality or combination of therapies based on your specific needs—whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing stress, or looking for long-term pain relief.

What is lymphatic massage, and how can it help me?
Lymphatic massage is a gentle technique designed to stimulate your body’s lymphatic system, supporting detoxification, reducing swelling, and boosting immune health. It’s ideal for clients recovering from illness, surgery, or chronic inflammation.

What are the benefits of cupping therapy?
Cupping promotes circulation, eases muscle tension, and enhances lymphatic flow. When combined with massage, it helps release deep-seated tension and supports the body’s natural detoxification process.

Do you offer trauma-informed massage therapy?
Yes. We create a safe, nurturing space for individuals healing from trauma. Trauma-informed massage is respectful, empowering, and paced according to your comfort. You remain in control throughout the session.

How long are your sessions, and what’s included?
We offer 45, 75, and 105-minute sessions. Each appointment includes time for consultation, customized hands-on therapy, and aftercare tips to support your healing between sessions.

Is prenatal massage safe during all stages of pregnancy?
Absolutely. Prenatal massage is safe and beneficial in all trimesters when performed by a trained therapist. We focus on relieving the unique discomforts of pregnancy while providing a peaceful and supportive environment.

What should I expect at my first appointment?
You’ll complete a brief intake form and one-on-one conversation with your therapist to discuss your needs. We’ll walk you through the process so you feel comfortable and supported throughout your session.

  • Being properly hydrated before your session allows your muscles to be more pliable, which helps your muscles receive massage better. In order to fully appreciate the benefits from massage, it is important that you remain hydrated after receiving massage - this is especially true when receiving deeper massage. Massage will move things around in your system, and staying hydrated helps you to continue flushing your system once things get moving.

Help yourself to water in the waiting room.

  • Massage should not be painful. It can be normal for massage to cause a mild discomfort, a “hurt so good” as you may have heard. While the mild discomfort is normal, pain is not. I do not want you holding tension or your breath to get through your massage, this is counterproductive.

  • I accept cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, and debit or credit cards.

  • Please try to be on time for your appointment, but life happens! Shoot me a text or call at my business number and let me know the situation. I leave time in between my clients so we have time to chat and that little bit of wiggle room for the traffic you didn’t expect. I will always try to give you your full time.

  • No, please stay home if you do not feel well. Massage stimulates many body systems, so receiving massage when you are not feeling well can make you feel worse. We will discuss possible rescheduling and the associated fees on a case by case basis.

  • Knots can be trigger points, bound up muscles, or bound up connective tissue. Your muscles can end up hard, tender, and/or bound up more in some areas than others. We all have physical habits as we work, socialize, relax, and sleep. Knots can be caused by overuse of muscles, underuse of muscles, held tension, and improper body mechanics and posture.

  • Minors 15 and younger must be accompanied in the room by a parent or guardian - as well as having written consent from their parent or guardian. Minors 16 and 17 must have written consent from a parent or guardian, but do not need them present in the room.
